Wallbox

A Wallbox install built around your home

Wallbox makes one of the most flexible Level 2 lineups on the market. The Pulsar Plus is the workhorse for most CT homes. The Copper SB suits multi-vehicle households or small commercial sites. The Quasar 2 is the first widely available bi-directional charger that turns your EV into a 70 kWh+ home battery.

We pull the permit, coordinate with Eversource or UI on any load-side work, and commission the unit on your Wi-Fi so you can schedule charging around the time-of-use rate before we leave.

CT V2G Pilot

Your EV as a backup battery for your home.

Eversource and United Illuminating are running bi-directional charging pilots in Connecticut right now. The programs are in early test phase and not heavily advertised, which is exactly why this is the moment to get in. West Electric is doing pilot installs for the state.

Pair a Quasar 2 with a compatible CCS1 EV and your car can power the house during an outage or earn you money by selling stored energy back at peak hours.

FAQ

Wallbox in Connecticut, answered honestly

Q.Does West Electric install Wallbox chargers in Connecticut?
Yes. West Electric installs the full Wallbox lineup across Connecticut, including the bi-directional Quasar 2. We have active Wallbox installs in progress and are participating in Connecticut utility pilot programs for bi-directional charging.
Q.What is bi-directional charging and is Wallbox the only brand that does it?
Bi-directional charging means the charger can move energy two ways: from the grid into the car, and from the car back into your home or the grid. Wallbox Quasar 2 is one of the first residential bi-directional chargers shipping in the U.S. A small number of other systems (such as the Ford Charge Station Pro paired with the F-150 Lightning Intelligent Backup Power package) also support vehicle-to-home, but the Quasar 2 is one of the only standalone units for non-Ford vehicles.
Q.Are there rebates for a Wallbox install?
Eversource and United Illuminating both offer residential EV-charger rebates, typically $300 to $1,500 depending on the charger model and the program in effect. We confirm your eligibility and file the rebate paperwork.
Q.Can the Wallbox Quasar 2 actually power my house in an outage?
Yes, with a compatible EV. The Quasar 2 supports vehicle-to-home backup when paired with a CCS1 EV that supports bi-directional discharge (model availability is expanding through 2026 and beyond). You also need a transfer switch or supported smart panel to isolate from the grid during an outage. We size the install for your specific vehicle and electrical service.
Q.What does a Wallbox install cost in Connecticut?
A standard Wallbox Pulsar Plus install in CT typically runs $1,400 to $2,200 including the charger, depending on panel distance, conduit work, and whether a circuit needs to be added. Quasar 2 installs run higher because of the bi-directional gear and the transfer switch or smart panel coordination, typically $5,500 to $9,500 all-in before incentives. We give a firm number after a site visit.
Q.Is Wallbox a good brand long term, or am I taking a risk?
Wallbox is a publicly traded Spanish manufacturer with U.S. operations and is one of the largest EV charger makers in Europe. The Pulsar Plus has been shipping in North America for several years and has a strong support track record. The Quasar 2 is newer technology, and we walk customers through the realistic expectations of an early-adopter product before recommending it.
