Can I mix brands?
Generally no. The integration between battery, inverter, and home electrical happens through brand-specific controllers and apps. Mixing introduces complexity and removes most of the per-app monitoring benefit. We recommend picking one and growing the stack within that brand.
Do I need solar to install a battery?
No - all three can be installed as standalone backup batteries without solar. But without solar to recharge during the day, the battery can only ride out a single outage cycle.
