Tesla Wall Connector: Right for Tesla Owners, Awkward for Everyone Else
If you drive a Tesla, the Wall Connector is the easiest choice. It integrates natively with the Tesla app you already use, supports native power sharing between two Wall Connectors without additional hardware, and pairs seamlessly with a Powerwall for solar self-consumption. The Gen 3 Wall Connector (current as of 2026) delivers 48A on a 60A circuit, matching the JuiceBox on speed.
If you do not drive a Tesla, the Wall Connector is the weakest option in this group. Non-Tesla EVs charge via a J1772 adapter (included), but the Tesla app provides minimal useful data for non-Tesla vehicles, there is no Alexa or Google Home integration, and the charger is not ENERGY STAR certified.
For a mixed-vehicle household where one car is a Tesla and one is not, ChargePoint or JuiceBox is the more practical choice. Both work natively with every EV via J1772.
ChargePoint Home Flex: The Flexible Workhorse
